About Me

I worship Jesus, my lord and savior. My prayer is that my life reflects that. I adore my husband, Mike of 10 years. We have four children. Ages; 8,6,4,2. I do homeschool the 4 and 2 year olds and love being home. My passions are homemaking, learning, counseling, teaching, serving with my husband, who is a pastor. I enjoy cooking, scrapbooking, playing star wars (light sabers and all) with my sons, dolls with my girls, and enjoy too much family dance party nights- listening to my favorites: Muse, Keane, Death Cab for Cutie, indie rock, brit pop, and some heavy metal (seriously).  I live for seeing Christ reflected in the mundane, patterns of life. I love to think deeply and understand biblically how to filter the “world” and love and honor Christ while living here, embracing our great city of Seattle, and having fun here, more fun with a double tall extra hot no whip mocha, though…

Past:

I didn’t grow up in a Christian home and by God’s grace, He snatched me up as his daughter. I began serving and working in a baptist church childrens class in Joplin, Missouri sixteen years ago. There, I met Jesus loving solid families. I began to grow in my salvation and understand living life to God’s glory. For the next 5 years, I taught children and hung out with as many christian families as possible. One family in particular took me under their wing as a little sister. They were a vital part of my late teens and saw me get married to Michael. I had met Mike in high school. He was a metal drummer with long hair and huge wooden cross necklace, serious and genius, loner and pastor’s kid. I was the tight jean wearing, line-dancing, boy- crazy, cow-girl, who was every one’s friend. Needless to say, we did not hook up in high school! But, I stopped being a cow-girl and started going to christian alternative punk shows and began Bible college. I got a job at a Christian bookstore and moved out on my own. I was doing ministry on staff at that awesome baptist church and trying to catch up theologically in these circles. Mike cut his hair and started studying math and computer science at the state college in our city. He came in to the bookstore one day and saw me. He had remembered me from high school. He called me up one day and asked me out. We were married on June 12th, 1999.

Mike’s hair is still short, thank God. And I will not be caught dead in country clothes. There is much more to my story, darkness and light, but most importantly, God is sovereign. Jesus is God. and my life is about worship and God getting His glory!
